Interested in writing for the blog?
We have some guidelines to help you determine whether your pitch or topic is a good fit for us.
Topic: Preferably dance travel-related. This can include, but is not limited to:
- personal experiences attending dance festivals, workshops, conferences, and seminars
- personal experiences working for dance (performance production, arts administration, producing and curating)
- touring and performing
- dance and/or theatre show reviews
- tips and tricks for dancers
- dance and related equipment product reviews
We are also interested in articles about film, theatre, circus, and anything else a dancer might do.
Syntax & Style: Please double check your grammar and sentence structures. Lonely Pirouette reserves the right to make minor changes to approved posts for grammar, spelling, and clarification, in conjunction with the author. In addition, you may use whatever tone you're comfortable with (formal, casual, somewhere in-between), as long as it refrains from aggressive, violent, or misdemeaning intentions and wording.
Images & Copyright: If submitting with images, please credit the source or photographer. It's best to use stock and copyright-free photos for anything you don't own. Within the article, attribute a source to anything you researched (or link it to the original source).
Lonely Pirouette takes no responsibility for copyright claims of guest contributors.
Social Media Usage: With your approval, we may use all or excerpts of your piece on social media, including, but not limited to, Instagram, Facebook (Meta), Pinterest, and YouTube.
We do NOT accept: dofollows, payment for publication, and generally anything illegal or against Google guidelines.
We are a baby blog ;) Writing for Lonely Pirouette is a volunteer endeavour. You will be credited as the author for your piece (let us know your author name or pseudonym).
With all posts, Lonely Pirouette may take down or re-publish them as needed to fit the theme of the site or to comply with legality.
