The Coolest Toilet in Munich, Germany
It’s not every day that I get the urge (haha) to devote a separate article entirely to a toilet, but this hidden washroom at the centre of Munich was so impressive, I just have to.
This toilet is located on the second floor of Studio Odeonsplatz, a minute away from the Odeonsplatz U-Bahn station. I discovered it by visiting Matcha Rina Bar München downstairs.
From my previous article:
In terms of matcha, it’s very mediocre (just like the Google reviews said, but I just had to find out for myself).
In terms of hidden delights, I couldn’t believe my eyes.
Who knew I would’ve discovered the coolest toilet in all of Munich atop this low-key matcha bar? Matcha Rina is located inside Studio Odeonsplatz by Mercedes-Benz, a car exhibition and dealer right in the middle of one of Munich’s historic hotspots.
It’s not like they advertise the toilets. It’s on the second floor, shared by everyone in the building. Then you walk inside, and suddenly you’re enveloped on all 4 sides by mirrors and a funky colour-changing LED show. The setup itself isn’t complicated, but the mirrors make for an infinity effect that’s super cool to gawk at.
I spent several minutes just twirling around in the washroom with my phone before actually getting to business.
Outside at the sink, they also offer additional items like deodorant and mints. Talk about swanky.
Performers will find the effect similar to dressing room vanity mirrors, when two are placed right opposite each other, creating a never-ending sequence of reflections.
The light show cycled through several colours, including cyan, pink, purple, green, and yellow.
Yes, I spent a lot of time in here.

From a design perspective, it’s simple, affordable, and aesthetic. Toilets can be notoriously tiny, but the mirrors instantly opened up the space, and LED fixtures are relatively inexpensive. Probably the biggest expense was the mirrors themselves!
It’s just so fun.
Right next door to the toilets is the staff room, which is a spa!
And here’s their Refresh Bar with deodorant and mints:
The LEGO car model downstairs is also cool. The Matcha Rina seating area is nice for working on your laptop, though be aware there might be car salespeople coming up to you from time to time!
Finally, here’s Studio Odeonsplatz’s Instagram handle if you want to learn more:
Happy snapping :)
