Letters to My Lover #5

Poems and prose about love, loss, and heartbreak.

Before the anger there came grief.

You are important (but not enough)

You are special (but not enough)

You are enough (but not enough… for me)

- read between the lines

Where there is death, there will always be death.

Where there is vacancy, there will always be filling.

I sometimes wonder if our connection left such a hole to be filled

That the universe sent a replacement dove

To the spot that should’ve been mine.

- placating myself

Don’t give yourself so much credit

If life is a film roll

I could cut you out

And my life would still make sense

- your appearance did not change my decisions
