A Love Letter to Dance

This letter was first written by me as part of the Passion, Play, and Pleasure dance retreat in Portugal, June 2023.

Dance,

you are my lifeline.

You are my hope, my joy, my one true love in life.

Without you, I don’t know how my life would’ve turned out,

what twists and turns it might’ve taken.

With you, it has taken me

here.

The past couple days have been exhilarating, exciting, and

absolutely momentous.

I have been given a gift

to bring myself back to nature and

back to you

in the truest sense of the word:

all your silliness, wisdom, creativity,

and the passion you invoke in others.

You are universal love.

Watching the bodies and personalities of those around me

has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

I love you.
